Who's the pussy now?

Jack, owned by Donna Dickey, of West Milford, NJ, weighs 15 lbs. Black bears average about 250 lbs.

Neighbor Suzanne Giovanetti first spotted Jack's accomplishment after her husband saw a bear climb a tree on the edge of their northern New Jersey property on Sunday. Giovanetti thought Jack was simply looking up at the bear, but soon realized the much larger animal was afraid of the hissing cat.

After about 15 minutes, the bear descended and tried to run away, but Jack chased it up another tree. [...] "He doesn't want anybody in his yard," Dickey said.

That must be a hell of a hiss.
Close ups both Jack and the cowering bear..

Wall Street Fat Cats Strike

Think your cat causes trouble around the house? Clawed window screens or dug up plant aren't that bad when you consider Meow of Worcestershire, England. Morgan Stanley had to file suit in a dispute over Meow's alleged registration of a domain name using its trademark.

The arbiters, however, were dubious:

Respondent maintains that it is a cat, that is, a well-known carnivorous quadruped which has long been domesticated. However, it is equally well-known that the common cat, whose scientific name is Felis domesticus, cannot speak or read or write. Thus, a common cat could not have [...] registered the disputed domain name.

Perhaps a cat can't read, but maybe Meow's owner should have considered PawSense to keep her off the keyboard.

Wow! In our neverending quest for the ideal iPod case, we never thought we stumble on anything like these! The cutie on the left seems to be for the mini (r.i.p.), while blackie on the right there is for the nano!
